Compatible with Reborn?

I have a question... I wonder if this mod will also be ported to Reborn, when Reborn is finished...

Imagine running Reborn (new engine), New Vision (new world textures), HDTP (new objects and models + textures), Shifter (improved gameplay) and Revision (better and improved maps)... That would be awesome!

I dont think so. We'll see when the Reborn is released.

Isn't it easier to create maps for UE 2.5? Or there may be some tool out there to convert UE 1 maps to UE 2.5...

Yeah, It's a lot easier and you can make more 'quality' areas.

As I said, we'll see when it's done.

I don't know much about how Reborn works but im fairly certain that it will NOT be compatible. im guessing that they have to convert the maps and the missions to work in the engine. so don't count on it.

Yeah, I know that the maps would be incompatible, but maybe there is a chance to get it to work for Reborn and UE 2.5 if there is some Unreal Tournament 98 --> Unreal Tournament 2004 converter. And after that only "small" (hehe) modifications would be needed to get things right :P

What's Reborn?I don't recall noticing that one.

Hmm.. you know that the maps can be exported right?

This is what I mean:

So, the map will be saved int t3d. format. It's Unreal text stuffs.. I was just wondering if it's possible to import the files in Reborn. Cuz that could work.

Okey, but do you have Unreal Tournament 2004? Cos' you could try the maps after that, and see if it works, because Reborn is essentially only a mod to UT2004 to add the Deus Ex stuff like infolink and skill system and that kind of thing, and the maps should work on the regular UT2004.

I have no idea what method they are using but I'm very sure that they dont re-create the maps. I dont have UT2004 installed atm. We'll see when it comes out. If it's possible to Export/Import maps to UED 2.5 Revision will surely work better in that engine.(especially HK area..)

I think they used an app called "ucc mapconvert" to convert the maps. I asked the question on the Reborn forums a couple of minutes ago and is waiting on an answer.

If this ucc mapconvert really works I can sure say that Revision would be a lot different(better) in UED 2.5 That engine gives so much better capabilities and better tools for mapping.
