Greetings users and guests! This is the official suggestion topic where you can give your ideas and critic of the Revision Demo 1.2.

Now that you have played the latest 1.2 demo version, it is still possible to do some changes to the levels to get a better gameplay experience.

So, if you have ideas and suggestions, share them with us and let's discuss about them!

Hong Kong is now too big? The vanilla was way too small. I'll see what I can do with the spare space. Thanks for the critic!

hahah, the thing is that there is nothing behind that door. It's just there to give the players a feeling 'what could be in there?'

But the feeling are better when you know you can, by any way, find what are behind... I think if there is nothing behind, this door just can be blowed out from this map...

Maybe later in game you can give the code, or unlock the door by a device, and give by that way something usefull for the coming event. Not something like a plasma gun, or other gun... but i dont know, dont just let this door stand there for nothing sad

Hey Guys,

Good to be back here on these forums as illumonic is now officially a SPAM HOLE! biggrin

Yeah as I said before making somehow indestructable hatches ontop of the things you need to blow up in ShipBelow would force the player to explore for a datacube maybe. Or make the player have to go through some extra corridors with keypad protected doors with a small hall with controls and stuff leading to the stuff you need to blow up.
However my main suggestion is have somehow a way to engage the player to explore more, because a lot of Deus Ex players just go to the main areas and won't explore enough. This can be very unfortunate as people won't be smart enough to explore your new content sad I am not absolutely sure, but advising adding the TNM easter egg system or coming up with some way to make the player put the objectives behind them and just explore for the fun of it AND get advantages from doing so happy

And yes unfortunately unless you can add on a Revision.u and therefore make a new player class there is no other way of adding a custom crosshair to Revision as I know it. dry
Can't wait to test the latest version of ShipBelow so I can report bugs and stuff.

My Mod!

The thing is that, well I’ll speak straight: Compared to ship below and Hong Kong.. NYC Street’s level design is very out of date and at a times, it look’s crap. Yeah I said it. So, the next couple of weeks we’ll be editing NYC Streets.

By NYC Streets, you mean Hell's Kitchen?
The main thing I found confusing is that the Ton Hotel isn't showing as a hotel. it looks more like a police station, with that cop outside and those lights. A lion and an eagle statue on top don't help either.

Wasn't there a (neon) sign in the original Ton hotel's entrance? That may be too "sreamy" for the front, but it really needs something pointing out this new building is the Ton.

The only other thing I found confusing was Smuggler's place and those steel beams in front of the hole in the wall. Sometimes they're there, other times they're not. Indestructible as well.

Or do you mean the path to the generator with NYC Streets? I'm a tad confused. wink

(Ah and without ghosting, is it possible to make it easier get into Paul's original room somehow?)

Yep, NYC Streets aka Hell's Kitchen.

We'll do our best to make the hotel look better, but the location will remain the same. The thing is, that we can't use the vanilla ton hotel sign since it looks crappy and beyond that, the sign broken aswell. As for smuggler.. his secret entrance is being modified.

What comes to paul's old room.. there's nothing... we will remove it.

Thanks for the post, if you have more suggestions, let us hear them :)!

Park some cars/wrecks/trucks in the streets. While the back-streets have a nice cluttered feeling, the streets are just too empty.

Or steal some neon from the Need for Speed series city-scape and add that in. get rid of that gloomy atmosphere, we're not in Deus Ex 2's dark age yet. Just kidding of course. happy
I liked what you did to the place the first time, only found it difficult to recognize the hotel.
